Solar Energy Courses offered in Cincinnati Area

SW Ohio's Great Oaks Institute now offers 2 adult-ed evening courses developed in 2005-06 by John F. Robbins, CEM.  John is a KSP member, a self-employed energy consultant and solar home designer since 1983, now living in Northern KY.  He was co-recipient of the Ohio Governor's Award for Excellence in Energy Efficiency in the Education Category in 1998.  He began teaching his new courses in early 2006.  They are offered at 2 campuses on the outskirts of Cincinnati, Ohio:  Live Oaks in Milford, accessed off route 28 on the east-side of the I-275 circle freeway;  Diamond Oaks, accessed off I-74's Rybolt Rd. exit, inside the west-most section of the I-275 freeway.  Each class is 21 hours, running for 3-hrs per week for 7 weeks.  Quarterly scheduling and class fees can be found at http://www.greatoaks.com/.  Click on "adult & continuing education", then "part-time courses", then "building construction & maintenance".  These non-graded classes qualify for 2 CEUs.

1) "Home Energy Efficiency"   Cut utility bills by understanding better how your home and household use energy, then learning how to control and reduce it.

2) "Solar Energy At Home"     Learn to use the various forms of solar energy for heating, shading, daylighting, water heating and generating electricity.
